This costume is based on the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 Movie due out in theaters May 2, 2014 and does resemble the comic book costume as well.

Sculpt:
The Amazing Spider-Man has an all-new sculpt with realistic body proportions and super poseable. He includes interchangeable hands with closed fisted and web shooter hands that are all on ball joints.
The lines on his suit are all sculpted in instead of painted, creating a lot of texture on the red with additional texture on the blue. The spider logo on his chest and back were also sculpted on.
His sculpt and articulation allows you to recreate most of Spidey’s movie and comic book poses.

Ball hinged head, ball hinge shoulders, swivel shoulders, double jointed elbows, swivel biceps, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, hinged knees, swivel and pivot ankles, calf rotation.

Overall:
This figure is simply perfect in regards to proportions, articulation, and has a superior sculpt over basically any Marvel Legends Spider-Man action figure ever released. Hasbro has raised the bar to new highs with this figure and we look forward to what they have in store next.
