Watch out Spidey! Carnage is back for the third time in the Marvel Legends line with an amazing looking sculpt that easily tops what Toy Biz had done in 2005 and Hasbro’s 2008 reissue for the Spider-Man Classics line. This comic book accurate release is what fans have been waiting for since the launch of Marvel Legends in 2002!
The breakdown of build-a-figure parts included in the assortment is as followed:
- Carnage/Toxin (swap figure) – Head
- Electro – Left Arm
- Amazing Spider-Man Right Arm
- Black Cat/Black Widow (swap figure) – Torso
- Beetle/Boomerang (swap figure) Left Leg
- Superior Spider-Man – Right Leg
Availability: January 2014
Sculpt & Paint:
Carnage uses shared parts and includes a new head, legs, arms, and tendrils sculpted on his arms and legs, and removable tendrils that connects to his back. Unlike the previous releases that had a lot of texture to the body, this new release was simply painted red with black wavy lines. With rising costs, it’s understandable that Hasbro went in this direction considering that the survival of this line solely depends on retailer orders.
His eyes are big and painted in a glossy pearl and his mouth is in an open position. His claws are smaller compared to the last release and also he has non-articulated claws.
Articulation:
Ball hinged head, ball hinge shoulders, swivel shoulders, double jointed elbows, swivel biceps, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, hinged knees, swivel and pivot ankles, calf rotation.
Accessories:
Removable tendril that connects onto the back.
Overall:
Carnage is a far superior sculpt and much more comic book accurate compared to what has come before.
Highly Recommended.
