Mr. O’Neil, also known as April’s dad, gets mutated by a canister of mutagen that falls from a Kraang ship and is about to land on April, when he pushes her out of the way and becomes mutated in her place. Now, Kirby Bat aka “Wingnut” flies around the city spying on the Kraang and will swoop in to save his daughter if necessary.

Sculpt:
Kirby Bat is an all-new sculpted figure with ball jointed bat wings and attached claws, long bat ears, a big brain-like shaped head, fangs, and an arm sculpted onto the body. Playmates Toys had cut costs on this figure and skipped one key point of articulation – the right shoulder. This arm is shorter and smaller than the left one, but this is no excuse to cut costs by a single point of articulation.
Paint:
Kirby Bat is painted with dark pink wings and eats, a tan body with a green vein at the top and back of the head, a purple vein or organs across his chest, and has an orange fur on the lower half of his chest, and goes down to his feet, and around his back. He also has a tail-like vein that goes up across his back in the same orange color.
Articulation:
Ball jointed head, ball jointed wings, hinged and swivel left shoulder joint, and hinged and swivel hips.
Accessories:
Mini plastic bat.
Overall:
Kirby Bat, also known as “Wingnut” in the vintage line, is a neat figure and I really like that his wings are ball jointed and he does resemble his animation appearance. However, skipping a key point of a figures articulation is a mistake and especially the shoulder joint of all things. Playmates Toys should not have cut costs on this figure as he looks just odd with a sculpted arm that is part of his torso. We have not seen a figure that has an arm sculpted to his body like this from any toy line or company that we can think of. Maybe this has been done before once or twice, but in this case and especially a line that has both kids and collector support, should not have happened.
Playmates Toys needs to go back into production on this figure and give him the hinged/swivel shoulder joint and should release him as a running change.
