Hasbro has really stepped up their game with Marvel Legends these past couple of years and The Red Skull is no exception. Featuring a great sculpt and a superior job compared to what Toybiz had done with both of their Red Skull figures, this figure is surely one you shouldn’t skip out on.
The breakdown of build-a-figure parts included in the assortment is as followed:
- WW2 Captain America – No Build-A-Figure Parts
- Marvel Now! Captain America – Head
- Agents Of Hydra Red Skull/Hydra Soldier – Left Arm
- Soldiers Of A.I.M Baron Zemo/A.I.M. Soldier- Right Arm
- Wave 2 – Captain America – Right Leg
- Wave 2 – Winter Soldier – Left Leg
- Wave 2 – Black Widow – Torso
The Red Skull has a very detailed head sculpt and a red and black wash paint apps to go with it. The head sculpt is the best we’ve seen of The Red Skull with a very detailed facial expression and bone structures. The body is a reuse of the first Captain America movie line of Nick Fury. It is strange having both Red Skull and Nick Fury wearing the same trench coat and outfit, but in this case the mold looks good for both characters.
There are some problems with the shoulder articulation in the ball jointed shoulder joints due to the fact that they don’t go down all the way down. The trench coat is not the problem, but the size of the ball joint and the upper arm hitting the figures upper rips prevents the arm from lowering.
He includes two pistols that can be stored in holsters and the Cosmic Cube that can fit in his left hand. The small pistol has a symbol on the handle and he has small skull’s painted on both of the arms to his trench coat.
Despite some challenges in the mold used, the head sculpt easily makes this figure worth picking up.
