Transformers Year Of The Horse continues last years Year Of The Snake shared exclusive 2 figure line of Omega Supreme and Platinum Optimus Prime from Transformers Energon. This year, Hasbro has reissued MP-10 Optimus Prime and Cybertron Supreme Starscream.
While the Cybertron did have some nice looking Transformers action figures that should have taken this slot, Hasbro decided to release Starscream likely due to his size and popularity. This is good news for fans like us that didn’t pick him up the first time around.
Availability: February 2014
Sculpt & Paint:
Supreme Starscream is a reissue and a repaint of the Cybertron Starscream figure released back in 2006. This release has a Generation 1 accurate color scheme with grey, blue, and red. The red is all metallic and after being transformed once for this review, the metallic paint started to chip on him. This is most unfortunate but it’s not the first time that Hasbro has not given us a better quality metallic finish as this has been a problem since Transformers Beast Wars Transmetals action figures were introduced in the late 1990’s.
The mold has the old Cybertron gimmick of when inserting the chip, his arms release the weapons and they both flip up and out.
Accessories:
Cybertron chip x2, Crown, missiles x2, instructions.
Overall:
A nice reissue and we are very happy with the G1 style paint job. Starscream towers over the Generations line and makes a great addition to any Transformers collection.
Highly Recommended.
