Ever since Hasbro had released the Avengers movie 6″ action figure line that was exclusive to Wal-Mart in 2012, fans have been waiting to finish off that set with Black Widow. Now 2 years later, fans can finally do that with the latest Marvel Legends Captain America wave from Hasbro.
Black Widow is the rarest of the second wave of Marvel Legends Captain America Infinite Series as she is packed out as one per case, while Captain America has 3 and Winter Soldier has 2 figures per case. If you need proof of that, take a look at the case assortment listed on Entertainment Earth. We believe this is a bit of an outrage to only pack her out as one per case, and the fact that she includes the Torso to Mandroid, the one piece needed to combine all other pieces of this build-a-figure only makes it harder on fans to even build Mandroid. This takes us back to the Hasbro Toy Fair 2014 Press Event when one of us overheard a Hasbro representative stating that he was surprised at how much White Queen was going for on the secondary market (if you remember White Queen was offered to comic book ships and some online retailers as part of the Puck Series in late 2013). It makes us wonder why a representative would even say that probably knowing that she too was packed out as one per case. Either Hasbro’s own team does not understand that only packing certain figures out as one per case is a bad thing, or they just aren’t paying that close attention to case assortment details.
The breakdown of build-a-figure parts included in the assortment is as followed:
- WW2 Captain America – No Build-A-Figure Parts
- Marvel Now! Captain America – Head
- Agents Of Hydra Red Skull/Hydra Soldier – Left Arm
- Soldiers Of A.I.M Baron Zemo/A.I.M. Soldier- Right Arm
- Wave 2 – Captain America – Right Leg
- Wave 2 – Winter Soldier – Left Leg
- Wave 2 – Black Widow – Torso

Sculpt & Paint:
Black Widow features an all new incredible sculpt and is in her Avengers movie outfit. She includes two interchangeable heads, and sets of interchangeable hands. She does not come with any guns or accessories, but she does have two handguns sculpted inside holsters onto each side of her thighs. There is a lot of really awesome detail to the zipper, texture on the uniform, and Shield logo’s on her arms. Her outfit is painted all in black, with a silver zipper and red belt buckle.
The included long hair head is comic book inspired, while the short hair is movie inspired that features the likeness of actress Scarlett Johansson. Her interchangeable hands come as two open and two open fisted as if they can hold weapons. The handles on her handguns can be held by either hand, but again are not removable to the thighs.
Articulation:
Ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, hinged and swivel elbows, swivel hands, ab crunch, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hunged legs, hinged and swivel ankles.
Accessories:
2 heads, 2 sets of hands, Torso and shoulder cannon for Mandroid.
Overall:
Black Widow features an incredible sculpt and Hasbro has given fans a great figure. She fits perfectly with the 2012 movie figures.
Highly recommended.
