Originally a Disney Store exclusive that was released in 2012, and again in 2013 as part of the Spider-Man Fearsome Foes Box Set exclusively available at the Disney Store, Diamond Select Toys reissued The Lizard again in 2014. During our interview with Zach Oat at New York ToyFair, we learned that Disney has the final word over if their exclusives can be reissued and offered to all retailers. Thankfully, Disney usually is generous and fans get a third chance at adding this highly detailed Spider-Man foe The Lizard to their collections.

Sculpt & Paint:
The Lizard stands 8-1/4″ and is an all new sculpt reissued for a second time. This figure is based on his comic book likeness and features green lizard-like rough texture all over his skin, an open mouth with his tongue sticking out, a blue undershirt, a white rubber lab coat with torn sleeves, purple pants town at the calves, and a long swivel tail with a bent tip that helps him stand.
Included with The Lizard is a base with a brick wall and a sidewalk with a manhole cover. Once standing on the display, his tail gets in the way and he has to be turned sideways with the tail pointing away from the wall. The display base is glued together and there is some glue residue showing on the pavement. The problem with the display base is that you can only display The Lizard in a couple of different ways as the tail and brick wall make it impossible to face him standing straight. It might have been better for Diamond Select Toys to do a flat surface display base with this reissue as we’ve seen them do with other characters including, Superior Spider-Man.

Ball jointed neck, ball jointed shoulders, hinged elbows, hinged and swivel wrists, waist rotation, swivel tail, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, hinged and swivel ankles.

Overall:
The Lizard is an excellent action figure with some great detail and deco choices worked into the design. Spider-Man fans will not go wrong with purchasing this figure to add to any Spider-Man collection. We suggest picking up him for your Marvel Legends and/or Marvel Select displays.
