McFarlane Toys continues to impress us with their The Walking Dead action figure line based on the hit TV series on AMC. For the first time in the line, fans can now own a vehicle and McFarlane Toys told us at New York ToyFair 2014 that more vehicles and playsets are planned if this set performs well.
Update: We were asked by IJustLiketheToys on twitter if the tires can move around or if the flat part of the motorcycle prohibits that. The answer is yes – the flat part does prohibit the back tire from going all the way around. Sorry we missed that in the review.
Availability: April 2014
Sculpt & Paint:
The motorcycle chopper and Daryl Dixon figure use all new sculpting and accessories. Daryl has a much better facial likeness to Actor Norman Reedus compared to previous figures as the actor was 3D scanned.
Daryl is wearing his angle wings sculpted onto the vest and the shirt sculpted onto his body has some detailed folds in the shirt and jeans. He has a removable knife in a sheath sculpted onto his pants and a rag sculpted on as well. Also included with him is his upgraded crossbow with green tipped arrows and it can also be stored on the front of the bike as shown below.
The chopper is is very detailed with a realistic and life-like took to it. It has all the components as seen on the show and includes a removable clip on bags on the passenger seat. The bike is difficult to stand on it’s own, but can be done so by using the flat surface on the back tire and place that on a flat surface. The kickstand does very little to help, so you have to rely on that back tire flat piece. The bike has a skull painted on the both sides
The box states that a poncho or lightning bolts as described, we believe that both were cut last minute to keep costs down.
Ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, hinged elbows, swivel wrists, hinged-swivel hips, hinged-swivel hips, hinged knees, and hinged ankles.
Upgraded crossbow, knife.
This is an excellent set and we are thrilled to see McFarlane take the risk and up the game a bit with this line. We look forward to future releases and hope to see playsets.
