Zombified action figures especially when brought into G.I. Joe is a fans dream come true. Thanks to Fun Publications for reviving cancelled figures from Hasbro, we are finally able to expand our Zombie Viper army from a couple of years ago and introduce Steel Brigade and TOXO-Vipers into the undead army. The only real problem we find that it is very hard to army build with only 3, making you want to purchase more overpriced 3-packs. However, since it’s only one per person and you have to go back to the end of the line if you want more, it makes it impossible for fans to build a zombiefied army. We have to ask why doesn’t Hasbro bring this concept back into retail as an exclusive Toys “R” Us box set? Anybody else want to see that?
G.I. JoeCon 2014 introduced the Zombie Initiative this year when Cobra’s experiments have gone too far. Turning their own employees into zombies, and now members of the G.I. Joe Steel Brigade unit.
Availability: April 10th-13th 2014 – Sold Out At JoeCon
Sculpt:
The zombified Steel Brigade uses the same mold as the regular Steel Brigade troopers released from Hasbroa couple of years ago, and includes new tooling thanks to Boss Fight Studio. The head is all new with the remains of a torn ski mask, and under that is a zombified trooper. While the pants and shirt is not torn (except at the sleeves), his helmet has battle damage and the goggles were smashed and broken at the left side.
His rifle cannot fit into his hands and becomes obsolete as zombies do not need weapons.
Articulation:
Ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, hinged elbows, swivel forearms, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, and swivel-hinged ankles.
Accessories:
Stand, helmet, removable vest, rifle, bio card.
Overall:
This is an excellent set and we want to see more Zombie Initiative sets in the future.
Highly Recommended.
