This past G.I. JoeCon brought back two G.I. Joe Retaliation vehicles, the Rescue Ops 4×4 Vamp Jeep, and the E.C.O. Force E.C.O. Striker, which was the free vehicle included in the box set and given to attendees only.
Availability: April 10th-13th 2014 – Only available to attendee’s at the show that pre-ordered the Zombie Initiative 3.75″ box set
Sculpt & Paint:
The E.C.O. Force E.C.O. Striker is a repaint of the G.I. Joe Retaliation AWE Striker released in 2012. In the convention comic book, there’s a page where this vehicles shows it can carry 4 characters seated inside, but realistically it can only hold 2. The back tires can bounce giving this buggy a realistic feature. The grappling hook is connected to the launcher by a wire that comes pre-wrapped around.
The vehicle is painted in blue and yellow with black tires and seats.
Accessories:
Grappling hook launcher.
Overall:
When fighting zombies, it’s imperative to have heavily armored vehicles to support troops that are also well equipped with weapons. However, when it comes to the E.C.O. Force E.C.O. Striker mold, this doesn’t cut it. It’s too open of a vehicle and this gives zombies easy access to the passengers.
It would have been nice to see some pivoting doors added to this, a windshield, and a back cover protecting the passengers. Of course all of that new tooling would cost the club some money especially since this would likely be a one time use. Hasbro could always have reissued it to general retail and helped pay for the new tooling? Unlikely they would have done that, but for G.I. Joe’s 50th anniversary and the fact that Hasbro did not attend, this could have been one way to make it up to fans.
Highly Recommended.
