G.I. JoeCon introduced Repulsor, a new character this year based on the 1991 Sludge Viper design as part of the box set offering. Repulsor is the commander in charge of the TOXO-Vipers and the right-hand man to Cesspool. His companion Dawg, is a newly tooled figure with no articulation and zombified.
Availability: April 10th-13th 2014 – Still available at the G.I. Joe Club Store
Sculpt & Paint:
Repulsor features a newly tooled removable helmet and vest and is based on the 1991 Sludge Viper design. The head is used from an older G.I. Joe action figure and is too small and out of scale with the body. With the helmet on, it looks a lot better and more in scale.
The figure is painted to match the 1991 Sludge Viper with yellow, turquoise and purple.
Dawg is a newly tooled figure with no articulation and is a bonus 16th figure in the box set. The dog is zombified as shown in the comic with exposed rib bones, and Compound Z blue flesh exposed. The figure is painted in black, blue and grey, with white rib bones.
Articulation:
Standard for G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary.
Accessories:
Includes Cobra Logo Stand, Shotgun, Pistol, Chemical Sprayer and connection hose with backpack.
Overall:
Repulsor and Dawg are excellent figures, but we are unhappy with the club for using an old head for Repulsor, just like they did with Black Out in Figure Subscription Service 1.0. We understand that new tooling is expensive, but it’s better than having a head that’s out of scale.
Highly Recommended.
