Diamond Select Toys The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Minimates line-up features 2 different case assortments. This one we are reviewing includes a set of 8 figures with Aleksei Sytsevich (Rhino in human form)/Alistair Smythe (human form), Peter Parker/Gwen Stacy, Battle-Damaged Spider-Man/Electro, and Spider-Man/Green Goblin. This assortment is only available through your local comic book shop and online retailers. The case assortment breaks down as 1x Aleksei Sytsevich/Alistair Smyth, 3x Spider-Man/Gwen Stacy, 4x Battle-Damaged Spider-Man/Electro, and 4x Spider-Man/Green Goblin.
The other assortment is a Toys “R” Us exclusive and includes Battle-Damaged Spider-Man with translucent Electro, Spider-Man with grinning Green Goblin, and Flashback Spider-Man with Max Dillon.
The Aleksei Sytsevich and Alistair Smythe 2-pack is a historic set because both are available for the first time as an action figure in human form. We also want to point out that this is the first Smythe action figure in 20 years since the classic mid-90’s Spider-Man animated series. Unfortunately, this set is only packed 1 per case of 12 and this means that most fans will not be able to own it unless they purchase a case assortment or a set (we provided links of where to purchase this rare 2-pack below to help you out!).

Aleksei Sytsevich includes interchangeable legs, a gun and a display stand. The head sculpt is is painted with an open mouth and a thick black line across the top.
Alistair Smythe includes interchangeable arms, removable jacket, a cell phone, a suitcase and a display stand. He has glasses painted on the head and a brown hair piece on top. The jacket can be removed to display him with the shirt and tie and a new set of arms.
Gwen Stacy is Peter’s love interest and includes a figure stand. Her hair piece is removable and her outfit is painted on.
Peter Parker includes a Spider-Man mask that fits over his head, a cell phone, a backpack that goes over his shoulder, a removable black jacket, a brown hair piece and a figure stand. Painted on his chest is the spider-man uniform, but he does not come with interchangeable arms or legs, so changing this figure into spider-man is not possible.
Battle-Damaged Spider-Man includes a fireman hat with the number 62 painted on front, webbing, and a figure stand. The hat is removable and the webbing fits in his hand. The suit is ripped twice on the chest and has black dirt marks on the legs. The back is not battle-damaged. The mask is also torn at the top and has dirt on the left side. The left shoulder has the same black dirt as the legs.
Electro includes a display stand that could pass for Hydro Man as well, two clip-on attachments on his arms, and a figure stand. The head, electric stand and attachments are painted a metallic blue and really stand out quite nicely. Electro’s chest and back have some detailed line-work painted in silver.
Spider-Man includes webbing, a horn, a cell phone and a figure stand. He is painted in the standard red and blue suit.
Green Goblin includes a figure stand and features a lot of paint deco on his body. His head, chest, arms and legs have green and silver line-work and detail and the quality on the paint is one of the best we’ve seen when it comes to the Minimates line. While he does not come with a glider or any recognizable Green Goblin accessories like a pumpkin bomb or bag around his shoulder, the quality on the paint makes up for that.
Overall:
This is an excellent wave and we suggest picking up this one over the Toys “R” Us assortment.
