NECA introduced a new line of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes figures with series 1 including Caesar, Koba, and Maurice. If you enjoyed Rise of the Planet of the Apes, then we expect that this new film will also be very entertaining both fans of the franchise as well as newcomers.

Sculpt & Paint:
Maurice features an all new sculpt with fur covering his body. He also has fur made of rubber around his stomach and back.The fur is all texture sculpted on and his hands, feet, face, neck and upper chest are skin.
It is somewhat difficult to get him to stand up as the feet are curled and flat only at the heel and on the side. It takes awhile to figure this out as articulation to the legs are limited at the hips.
The paint scheme is outstanding on this figure are very life-like. He is painted in a brown wash and black skin.
Articulation:
Ball-jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, ball-jointed wrists, ball-jointed abs, swivel-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, ball-jointed ankles.
Accessories:
Book.
Overall:
Maurice is an excellent figure but does have some flaws. The hips don’t articulate the way they should and we are unsure why Maurice would include a book, and not a spear or other weapon. There is also a problem getting him to stand, but once you figure it out you’re good to go.
