The Transformers Collectors’ Club and Hasbro have outdone themselves this time with the latest TFSS 2.0 release of Thrustinator. Thrustinator is a homage figure of Transformers Beast Machine series finale Waspinator and Thrust joined together as seen in the final moments of the series. Waspinator is a fan-favorite and even made it to his rightful place in the Transformers Hall of Fame.
In Beast Machines, he was shown in beast mode only with half his face as Thrust, and the other Waspinator and he was back into the body of a bumblebee. The series never shown him in robot mode, so the Club had to come up with something clever, and we feel they did an excellent job designing and sculpting it.
Availability: July 2014
Sculpt & Paint:
Thrustinator uses shared parts with Japanese Beast Wars Dirgegun and includes a newly sculpted robot head. The beast head is half Thrust on the left, and half Waspinator on the right, with the body showing both green, yellow, and pink to represent both characters as his spark was reformatted in the Beast Wars series finale. In robot mode, he has a more interesting head sculpt with the right side of his face showing Waspinator’s eye, and Thrust’ mouth, and on the left Thrust’ eye, and Waspinator’s mouth. The rest of the body is reused from Dirgegun and they did an excellent here.
There are two missiles hidden inside his wings and can be used in either the cannon on his back and his blaster.
Articulation:
Ball-jointed head, ball-jointed shoulders, hinged elbows, ball-jointed hips, ball-jointed knees, ball-jointed wings.
Accessories:
2x missiles, blaster.
Overall:
Thrustinator is a prime example of what Fun Publications should be using the Figure Subscription Service for – fan-demanded and highly desired characters using both old and new molds that fans remember.
Highly Recommended.
