Hasbro released their San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Toys “R” Us Exclusive G.I. Joe Danger At The Docks on July 24th, 2014 on Toys “R” Us.com, then at San Diego Comic-Con at the Entertainment Earth booth. This set includes a VAMP MK II Jeep reissued from 1984, Flint, a Cobra Night Raft from 1985, a Cobra Eel, and an exclusive Foot Locker filled with weapons for Cobra.
Ever since Hasbro cancelled their trip to G.I. JoeCon 2014, the overall concern was that Hasbro is giving up on G.I. Joe as they seem to be slowly backing away from the franchise especially as going so far as canceling a trip to the 50th Anniversary of G.I. Joe. While new product is coming out for 2014, Hasbro just might stop making G.I. Joe action figures at least in the near future (this does not include the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club, which will be the savior for Joe fans with exclusive Figure Subscription Service, JoeCon, and Membership Incentive figures and vehicles).
At this time everybody is waiting for Hasbrotoyshop to get their acts together and put up the very limited number of exclusives from Marvel, Transformers, Star Wars and other lines. While Toys “R” Us already had their exclusives posted online and announced the date and time fans can expect to pick up this G.I. Joe set, other Hasbro exclusives sold on Hasbrotoyshop are posted whenever, and this usually leads to some unnecessary headaches and overall negative feelings towards Hasbro each year. This is not working anymore and they need to follow Toys “R” Us’ example and announce the date and time that these will be available, as well as hold extra stock in the warehouse for those that cannot attend San Diego Comic-Con, and those that did attend but could not get the exclusives because of extremely long lines and limited supply sold each day. San Diego Comic-Con is notorious for crowds and it’s very hard to purchase exclusives. It shouldn’t have to be this way.
