Hasbro’s San Diego Comic-Con 2014 exclusive Marvel’s The Infinity Gauntlet 3.75″ set includes Thanos, Misstress Death, Nebula, Starfox and a wearable roll-play foam Gauntlet glove available only this multi-pack. This set is also based on a Marvel Comics 6-issue story arch from 1991. Just like the Marvel Legends Thanos Imperative exclusive box set, we also have not read this, but will make it a priority using our newly purchased Marvel Unlimited membership.
For those that could not obtain this set at SDCC, Hasbro provided a limited stock on HasbroToyShop. Trying to purchase their exclusives either way has proven to be very time consuming as both require a lot of time, patience, and a bit of a headache. This year, HasbroToyShop did not put up the exclusives until Monday, August 4th 2014. Over 5 business days after SDCC, which is also a new record in how long it took them. We would like to see things improve such as telling customers when to expect the exclusives to be posted online, and at what time like some competitors offer.
Availability: July 2014
Thanos – Thanos uses a reused body from the Marvel Universe 3.75″ Thanos figure and comes with a new head sculpt and a translucent Infinity Gauntlet. His paint scheme is also different with a dark blue and gold costume.
Misstress Death – She is a newly tooled figure with the only points of articulation being a swivel head and hand. Her hood, head and hand are interchangeable humanoid head and hand. Her left arm is not shown and is likely covered by her purple garment.
Nebula – Making her action figure debut, Nebula features shared parts and a newly sculpted tea, hands, belt, and ankle guards. Her head and hands are painted in a very light blue, her hair is black with blue highlights, and she is painted in a blue and pink outfit.
Starfox – Also making his action figure debut, Starfox uses shared parts and is given a newly sculpted head, chest armor, Gauntlet glove, hands, and wrist gauntlets. He is painted in his classic red, white and gold costume
This is an excellent set and we really like how good the role-play Gauntlet glove looks. We were unsure about this set until we got to look at in-hand, and have to say we are very pleased with the final product.
