In August, The Transformers Collectors’ Club shipped out Treadshot with Catgun to subscribers Figure Subscription Service 2.0. Treadshot is based on the Transformers Generations Warpath mold, and Catgun is based on Jida from Takara Tomy’s Arms Micron line. Both Treadshot and Catgun are from the 1990 Action Masters Transformers line. This line had non-transformable Transformers, and instead had transformable partners, weapons or exo-suits.
Availability: August 2014
Sculpt & Paint:
Threadshot uses the same mold as Transformers Generations Warpath that’s been used several times now by the Transformers Collectors’ Club, and is repainted in a black, grey, orange, light brown, and blue color scheme. The mold choice works for the character even though the head is different and the orange visor is now on his forehead, instead of his eyes. He has Decepticon logos painted on the sides of his legs.
Catgun uses the same mold as Jida from Takara Tomy’s Arms Micron line and transformers into a blaster that can be held by Treadshot. Catgun has black and orange plastic but does not have the yellow tail as the 1990 release had.
Original 1990 Treadshot and Catgun shown above.
Articulation:
Standard for Transformers Generations.
Accessories:
Missile, bio card, instructions.
Overall:
Treadshot and Catgun are long overdue for an update in the Transformers line and we hope to see more Action Masters Transformers used in the future.
Highly Recommended.
