In September, The Transformers Collectors’ Club shipped out Chromedome and Stylor to subscribers Figure Subscription Service 2.0. Chromedome is a repaint/retool of Transformers Prime Wheeljack with a new head and resembles his Generation 1 1987 action figure, and Stylor is based on M-28 S.2 from Takara Tomy’s Arms Micron line.
Availability: September 2014
Sculpt & Paint:
Chromedome uses the same mold as Transformers Prime Wheeljack and is repainted in a a off white, light brown, and red color scheme. The mold choice works for the character even though we’ve spoken out against the club using a Transformers Prime mold for the high priced Figure Subscription Service. The mold and colors resemble Chromedome almost perfectly. He was also given a newly tooled head to better match the characters’ likeness.
Stylor uses the same mold as M-28 S.2 from Takara Tomy’s Arms Micron line and transformers into a crossbow that can be held by Chromedome. Stylor is painted in grey and red.
Original 1987 Chromedome and Stylor shown above.
Articulation:
Standard for Transformers Prime.
Accessories:
2x Swords, bio card, instructions.
Overall:
Chromedome and Stylor are long overdue for an update in the Transformers line and we think the club made some great choice molds here.
Highly Recommended.
