Light Hope, along with Eldor and Club Etheria Sweet Bee are the last figures to be released under the management of Scott Neitlich. Light Hope is the Club Etheria subscriber exclusive figure and shipped only to Club Etheria subscription holders. If you recall, Club Etheria almost did not happen as it had only 97% of the subscribers out of 100% needed to be green lit, but Mattel still found that enough to go ahead with this 7 figure mini subscription. Light hope is also the lowest produced of the subscription exclusive figures, making him the more rarer figure. That is why you might see some secondary market prices skyrocket on him.
Light Hope appeared on the She-Ra animated series in the 1980’s as a voice and a shimmering column of light. With nothing to go on as far as source material, The Four Horsemen were tasked with an in-house creation of Light Hope as he might had appeared in the series and they have created another masterpiece.
If anyone is interested, we have Light Hope and almost all of the Club Etheria figures for sale at our store. We can do better on Light Hope if you purchase additional figures.
Availability: October 2014
Sculpt & Paint:
Light Hope has taken corporeal form for the first time in Masters of the Universe and includes a translucent pink skin tone, and a white and gold clothing to match the vintage Crystal Castle toy. The translucent pink wash also allows him to maintain the light form or spirit form if you will as indicated in the classic She-Ra animated series.
He is sculpted in the standard MOTUC body and includes newly tooled armor, head, staff, and cape. The translucent pink plastic wash and the gold armor add a lot of detail to this figure that is undeniably an eye catcher.
Articulation:
Standard for MOTUC.
Accessories:
Removable armor and Crystal Castle Staff.
Overall:
Light Hope is an excellent figure and for the most part, one of the more detailed and original toys released in 2014 as well as this line.
Highly Recommended.
Bio:
Real Name: Lord Ry’Gus Hope
In return for giving up his form, Lord Hope was blessed with great power by the Overlords of Trolla. He was tasked to bring relief to those trapped in the dark dimension of Despondos. Settling on the small planet of Etheria, he became known as Light Hope and turned the planet into a garden of good in an otherwise evil reality. Light Hope built a great fortress known as the Crystal Castle, offering it as a symbol to protect the magic of Etheria from the growing forces of Evil. It was also Light Hope who prophesied that one day the Sword of He would be wielded by the Twin Warriors of Destiny and they in turn would end the tyranny of the Horde Empire. To ensure this came to pass, the Overlords declared that the sword would be cloned so that each Twin could harness the Power equally. Light Hope infused the cloned sword with the Stone of Protection, becoming the sword’s guardian and safeguarding the secrets of its wielder – She Ra, the Princess of Power!
