Diamond Select Toys released two versions of the Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man 24″ Vinyl Bank – a Happy Face version (being reviewed) and an Evil Face version that was produced in fewer numbers, making it the rarer of the two. Stay Puft is one of the most recognizable characters created since his debut in Ghostbusters back in 1984.
The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man was the character that Ray Stanz thought of when Gozer stated to choose your destroyer. Gozer uses the manifestation of Stay Puft to attack the Ghostbusters, but is ultimately defeated and Stay Puft explodes leaving the Ghostbusters in a marshmallow mess state. Stay Puft’s exact to-scale height in the movie is 112.5 feet tall, while his height in the novelization of the movie is given at 100 feet. After the movie, Stay Puft was used in The Real Ghostbusters animated series, Comic Books, and Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Sculpt & Paint:
Stay Puft Marshmallow Man measures 23″ in height and 16″ width and made of Vinyl. He is hollow in the inside and features a coin slot in his back to store change. His mouth and eyes are beveled and his hat is molded to the right side of his head. The bottom part of the hat is painted in blue with the words Stay Puft painted on, and the larger part looks like a squashed marshmallow with a blue center piece and a red ribbon.
His shirt is beveled out from the body as is the red ribbon on his chest. The stomach is the largest piece on him and increases in size from top to bottom. The arms are made of three marshmallow pieces and his four fingers are sculpted as small marshmallows. The legs are made of three pieces with the feet being longer to hold him up. The left foot is slightly beveled at the heel and the right foot has the hole at the bottom to remove the change.
The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is painted in white with a light blue wash around the edges. He has a dark blue shirt, with a white stripe and a red ribbon.

Overall:
The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man remains one of the most iconic characters created in the 1980’s and you can’t go wrong with picking up the largest version of the character to ever be produced. He works well with the Ghostbusters Minimates, vintage The Real Ghostbusters action figures, Ghostbusters Classics, and Diamond Select Toys upcoming Ghostbusters Select 7″ action figure lineup.
Highly Recommended.
