The Track Viper was first released to the G.I. Joe line in 1989 and was originally packaged with the H.I.S.S. Tank II. He was also released as a Benny’s exclusive along with a box set of the Mudfighter, H.I.S.S. Tank II, and Dogfight.
While we think it would be great if Hasbro would make an updated Track Viper figure and release it with a reissue of the H.I.S.S. Tank II, we also think this would work for the G.I. Joe Collectors Club Figure Subscription Service. He could also be used as an army builder figure in the FSS, and get fans one stop closer to a complete ARAH collection that’s updated in today’s modern style.
The original figure had an all new mold, which for the G.I. Joe Club is not possible as they can only offer some new tooling such as heads. So our idea for the Club would be to use existing parts from the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Cobra HISS Driver Figure and give him a newly tooled head. The mold isn’t 100% accurate to the figure shown above and we’re thinking to use different forearms and maybe legs from another figure from the modern style. We also would want to make sure that this figure can actually fit inside the Cobra H.I.S.S., and using parts from a previous Cobra trooper in 25th Anniversary style guarantees that it will.
This week, we are asking the G.I. Joe Collectors Club to make a Track Viper as part of their Figure Subscription Service.
