NECA’s new Ultimate horror series has had very strong feedback with fans so far with their Freddy Kruger and upcoming Leatherface figure. This leaves the strong possibility of Jason Voorhess joining the Ultimate line. When it comes to Jason, the question remains which movie should they base the figure off of and should they include accessories and masks from several movies? We think so.
Our take is that Friday the 13th Part 7 was one of the most iconic of the chapters as it reveals Jason’s face, and shows more graphic detail of his rotting corpse as it’s been under water and buried under ground for decades now. If NECA were to base most of the figure on that film, it would need a removable mask to reveal the face, and include accessories from several chapters such as his machete, the saw used in Part 7, and the possibility of interchangeable heads from several of the chapters including the bag head, hokey mask head, unmasked head, with open and closed mouth.
What would also be an even greater touch if they include a decapitated Freddy Kruger head from the live-action hit movie Freddy vs. Jason where at the end of the film, Jason is walking back to his cabin with the machete in one hand, and Jason’s head in another.
