Buffalo Comic-Con is a 1 day show that is taking place today at the Marriott Inn in Amherst, N.Y. The show is run by the owner of Queen City Bookstore, a comic book store that has been in business since 1969. Coming this October is an even bigger show (see image above) on the 17th and 18th at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center,
Dealer Room – A large dealer room with thousands of vintage and current comic books, toys, and pop culture memorabilia for sale, not to mention artists booths, individual publishers, and more.
Contests – Some prizes include free tickets to the October 17th and 18th show, a compete set of the Free Comic Book Day titles, comic book giveaways, and more surprises throughout the day.
Free Comics By Queen City Bookstore – There is a table at the entrance with thousands of free comic books from the 1990’s and 2000’s.
Graham Nolan, co-creator of DC Comics Bane. He has copies of Joe Frankenstein #1 and #2 available to sign and purchase at the Queen City Bookstore booth. Graham is also selling posters that will sign for you. Next to him is his daughter Sarah Nolan, and she has her own drawings from Ghostbusters, X-Files, and other posters for sale.
Final thoughts – We love going to the smaller shows as it is easier to get around and you’re not dealing with large crowds or lines. The dealer room was larger than we thought, and each dealer had some great products for sale depending on your interests or what you’re looking for. There was something for everyone.
Make sure to mark your calendars for the October event and enjoy the gallery below!
