It was only a matter of time until Batman and Robin were together again in 6″ scale when DC Collectibles announced this line last year. This teenage version of Robin is non other than Dick Grayson that will eventually become Nightwing later on the series under The New Adventures of Batman.
Robin is based on the episode “Robin’s Reckoning,” which was the 2 part episode that introduced Dick Grayson/Robin to the show and includes episode specific accessories.
Thank you to DC Collectibles for sending along Robin for review.
Availability: March 2015
Packaging:
Robin is packed in the standard blister packaging with a clear view of him in the front and sides, and artwork in the back.
Sculpt & Paint:
Robin features interchangeable hands, interchangeable cape, and a grappling launcher sculpted to one of his hands. The figure is pretty much accurate to the show, and there is great likeness to his head sculpt as well as the costume and deco.
There also doesn’t seem to be any QC issues on the figure, and it looks like DC Collectibles kept their promise to fans to better make these figures to prevent further breakage.
Robin is painted in his red, green, and yellow costume, with a yellow and black cape.
Articulation:
Ball-jointed head, swivel shoulders, hinged-swivel elbows, hinged-swivel wrists, swivel waist, hinted-swivel hips, hinged knees, hinged ankles.
Accessories:
Interchangeable hands, interchangeable cape, grabbling hook, figure stand and base.
Overall:
Robin is an excellent figure and has a great likeness to his appearance on the animated series. No Batman collection is complete without a Robin figure next to him.
Highly Recommended.
