The Joker makes his most deserving debut in DC Collectibles Batman line inspired from the classic Bruce Timm animated series. This is our personal favorite version of The Joker as far as television goes as the character was both ruthless and cunning, and lets not forget he was able to keep all 7 members of the Justice League on their toes in an episode before the series became Justice League Unlimited.
The Joker is based on the episode “The Last Laugh,” which took place on April’s Folls and The Joker used laughing gas through the city of Gotham and steals at his discretion.
Thank you to DC Collectibles for sending along The Joker for review.
Availability: March 2015
Packaging:
The Joker is packed in the standard blister packaging with a clear view of him in the front and sides, and artwork in the back.
Sculpt & Paint:
The Joker features interchangeable hands, and has the flower, and tie sculpted on and designed in his purple and yellow suit. The figure is pretty much accurate to the show, and there is great likeness to his head sculpt as well as the costume and deco. One small tidbit would be that it is a little difficult to get the figure to stand, and the only way we found was to position his feet outward.
There also doesn’t seem to be any QC issues on the figure, and it looks like DC Collectibles kept their promise to fans to better make these figures to prevent further breakage.
Articulation:
Ball-jointed head, swivel shoulders, hinged-swivel elbows, hinged-swivel wrists, swivel waist, hinted-swivel hips, hinged knees, swivel ankles.
Accessories:
Interchangeable hands, necklace, a comb, a clear helmet to protect himself from the laughing gas, an ice pick, a comb, and a telescope.
Overall:
The Joker is an excellent figure and has a great likeness to his appearance on the animated series. No Batman collection is complete without a Joker figure to face off against him.
Highly Recommended.
