Ask Jakks Q&A With Scott Neitlich – May 2015

ToyHypeUSA Exclusive - Interview With Scott Neitlich At Jakks Pacific

Scott Neitlich, the new Director of Marketing for boys action figures and collectors for Jakks Pacific had taken some time from his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us. ToyHypeUSA will also be sending him monthly questions just like we did for Ask Matty, when he worked at Mattel as the brand manager for Masters of the Universe Classics. Send us your questions to [email protected] by May 14th.

1. Could you make 20″ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures, that are scaled down from the larger 48″ figures?

No, at this time we do not have rights for 20² TMNT, only 48² scale items/characters.

2. The Star Wars 20″ figures that you had mentioned at New York ToyFair, you had mentioned you were starting the bounty hunters with Bossk. Are you limited to just bounty hunters from Episodes I-VI, or can you expand the line to bounty hunters that were also shown in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Cad Bane, Embo, Seripas, etc.)?

We are not at all restricted to only the Empire Bounty Hunters and we are huge fans of Clone Wars and Rebels as well. Just no exact plans to announce right now.

3. Now that Ashoka Tano has made her return to the Star Wars franchise in the season 1 finale to Star Wars Rebels, would an action figure of her be something that you can do?

Yes, we ³could do her as a toy” but as noted above, just no exact plans to announce right now. It is very cool to see her show up in Rebels like that!

4. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line, are you able to look at characters other than the Turtles in the 48″ or in another scale?

Our rights are for the 48² scale, and are not specifically restricted to just the Turtles. Just to the scale.

5. Convention exclusives for 2015. Are any planned this year?

Yes! As announced at Star Wars Celebration we will have a unique ³first appearance² Boba Fett who¹s deco has never been done in a realistic style action figure before. He will be sold in the Lucas Pavilion at the JAKKS Booth. Additionally we have two more SDCC items that will be sold at the Entertainment Earth booth and will be announced sometime in June!
