Wishlist Wednesday - Hasbro Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Predaking

Since Hasbro had launched their Combiner Wars line earlier this year, based on IDW’s Combiner Wars Comic Book series, Hasbro has been busy bringing fans some Generation 1 accurate combiners such as Superion, Menasor, Devastator, Defensor, that all appeared in the comic. While some of the other combiners such as Predaking did not make an appearance in the comic, the line gives Hasbro an opportunity to re-imagine some classic Transformers characters and give them a modern day update.

Predaking was first released back in 1986 in the Transformers: Generation 1 line, and the mold was later re-issued in 2004, 2010, and 2014 (Platinum Edition). The character also saw a new mold in Transformers Prime and Construct-A-Bots.

It’s time that Hasbro went back to the classic look as that is more recognizable and rememberable for fans of the classic 1984 series and gave fans classic characters such as Divebomb, Headstrong, Rampage, Tantrum, and Razorclaw, which all combine to become Predaking as seen in Generation 1. Some of these trademarked names such as Razorclaw, Divebomb, Rampage, have been used recently, others such as Headstrong and Tantrum are not so fortunate and we are unsure if Hasbro has those trademarks anymore. It is recommended that they use them in another way such as Decepticon Headstrong, rather than rename them like they did with Firefly ( G1 Fireflight), Alpha Bravo (G1 Slingshot), and others. It wouldn’t be all-new tooling for Hasbro either, as some of the torso from The Combiner Wars line could be reused and just give them new arms, legs, heads, and whatever else is required to make it look like G1.

This week, we are asking Hasbro to make a Predaking action figure in their Combiner Wars toy line.
