In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the first Dark Horse Predator comic, NECA Toys and Dark Horse joined forces to bring a very special action figure into the hands of collectors. The Dark Horse mini-series followed NYPD Detective Schaefer (Dutch’s brother), whose investigation of a string of brutal murders leads him to an army of Predators ready to converge on the city. This comic book series was published in June 1989 through March 1990.

Packaging:
The packaging is a window style box with and uses original images on the front, as well as the back of the front fold of the vintage comic book (mini-comic included), along with a nice display of the figure inside.
Sculpt & Paint:
This figure is based on the 1989 – 1990 Dark Horse Comics run of the Predator mini-series and was sculpted using the cover of Issue #1 as a reference tool with comic book colors and shading.
The figure uses the standard Predator sculpt with the black fishnet and features two bone trophy straps around his chest, a retractable blade, detachable laser weapon, and a newly tooled ceremonial staff accessory. The staff includes a human skull and spine at the top with additional bones and hair attached to it.
The color choices use a light blue with some grey shading on the mask as well as the rest of the armor with black edging and detailing.. His back is painted all in red with black trim and detail and his sides, some parts of his chest, arms and feet are splattered in red.
Articulation:
Ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, ball-hinged elbows, ball jointed wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, ball jointed ankles.

Overall:
The Dark Horse Comic Book Predator figure has an excellent deco and a great likeness to the comic. If you’ve been collecting the video game figures, Predator in general, or if you’re a fan of the Dark Horse Predator run, then this deco choice is for you.
