DC Collectibles shipped out The Penguin and Poison Ivy figures this week from their Batman: The Animated Series toyline based on the 1990’s Bruce Timm series. These figures are now available at your local comic shop and online retailer, and make sure you are supporting this line as we want DC Collectibles to expand to Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Batman Beyond. This style of action figures lives on only if people are buying.
Poison Ivy is based on the episode “Chemistry,” which had originally aired on October 24, 1998.
Availability: September 2015
Sculpt:
Poison Ivy features a brand new sculpt and thin, lean, sculpt with an off white/light green skin tone as shown in the animated series. She is sculpted in a tight outfit that appears to be a top/skirt combo, tight gloves that cover her wrists to her elbows, and boots. Her head sculpt is a bit disproportional to the rest of her body, but most of that is likely due to the long and large red hair making up most of the sculpt. The facial sculpt is very well detailed and is accurate to the source material, as well as maintaining a cold and heartless stare. She includes 3 pairs of interchangeable hands (chop, open, and fisted) and cannot hold the glass bottles holding the chemicals.
Articulation:
ball-jointed head, ball-jointed shoulders, hinged-swivel elbows, hinged-swivel and removable wrists, hinged-swivel hips, hinged knees, and roller ankles.
Accessories:
Three interchangeable hands, 3 glass bottles with chemicals, and a figure stand with base.
Overall:
Poison Ivy is an excellent figure with a great sculpt and likeness to the source material. One accessory we wish she included was a plant as shown in the episode.
Highly Recommended.
