One of Hasbro’s most recent 6″ deluxe box sets is the Han Solo with Tauntaun action figures, which shipped with the 6″ scale Speeder Bike with Biker Scout for anyone that missed out the first time. Both sets have great attention to detail and sculpts.
The Star Wars saga is known mostly for its iconic characters of both heroic and evil overlords, but more importantly, its also known for its vehicles such as the Millennium Falcon and Death Star. When it comes to Star Wars action figures especially in the 4″ and 6″ scales, the vehicles and large beasts are every bit as important. Which is what makes these sets so great.

Speeder Bike with Biker Scout – The speeder bike looks like it was taken right out of the film and there is not a flaw or thing not to like about this vehicle. There are even some buttons and knobs on the dashboard and its clear that Hasbro made every bit of effort to bring fans the best possible vehicle. The acrylic stand connects on a ball joint and made of flimsy plastic and you cannot turn the stand once its connected to the speeder. The Biker Scout is also accurate to the source material and there are some light weathering effects to his armor as well as the bike. He features one pistol holster on his right leg down by the boot. The figure also includes all the articulation that you have seen in the line so far. The only real concern is that the finger guard will break and you have to be extra careful with that.
Han Solo with Tauntaun – This version of Han Solo is based on the outfit he wore on the planet Hoth, and the Tauntaun is the animal he used to ride the ice and snow planet. The figure features a nice looking sculpt and includes a removable hood, removable goggles, binoculars, blaster holster and blaster. It is a little difficult to get him to sit properly on the Tauntaun and you have to adjust his legs and feet to rest in the saddles. The Tauntaun features a very nice sculpt and includes a removable saddle that is made of soft rubber. The figures between 9 1/4″ and 8 5/8″ tall depending on how you position him. The fur is all a shade of grey and there is no definition here to indicate fur other than the texture. The horns are painted nicely with a dark wash for some added detail.
Overall:
Hasbro has done an incredible job on both of these sets. There is a lot of great tooling here and the details are pretty much top both. We do wish that the Tauntaun had more paint deco on his body to indicate fur instead of being left all grey.
