Battle-Damaged Jack – Jack is sculpted in a torn Santa Claus outfit and is based on the scene where Jack replaces Santa Claus and attempts to steal his holiday. He was given a torn pants in the back, torn paint deco on the sculpt, town sleeves, and the head sculpt is closed at the top, indicating there is no santa hat included and his facial expression looks saddened. There also is a neck piece from the collar of the jacket and he includes a figure stand.
The Tub – Measuring from 3-1/2″ (from the front to the tip of the tail) x 1-1/2″ x 1-5/8″ x 1″ in depth, the tub features four articulated legs, and painted an off white deco, a gold faucet, and grey tail. As shown in the stop-motion film, the tub can carry the four goulash trick ‘r treaters. All three fit inside nicely, but you have to move them around a little as they tend to fall over in the tub.
Lock – He is wearing the devil outfit in the plain red costume, and features a pointy tail, pointy upright shoes, pointy hair, and includes an interchangeable orange mask with pointy horns. He includes a mask that also has eye holes so you can still see the yellow eyes glaring at you as well as a figure stand. One accessory missing is the axe as seen in scenes from the movie, and would have been great to have it along with the minimate.
Shock – She is dressed as a witch and dressed in a plain purple outfit with a torn bottom, pointy witch’s hat, and pointy shoes. Her blue hair and hat are connected as one piece, and when you apply the green mask, it can cause the hat to loosen. The mask sits with a small circular piece resting on the shoulders, but this is smaller than the neck and you have a gap in the back. Add the fact that the ball joint is small, and you have a head piece that falls off rather too easily. What DST should have done here was give her a bigger neck piece on the mask so the head is not crooked.
Barrel – Lastly, Barrel is dressed in his skeleton outfit that’s purple with painted skeletons on the front of the shirt, paints, and sides of the arms. Unfortunately, he does not have this deco on his back and instead was left all purple. He is the shortest of the minimates and includes his white mask with green teeth as well as the figure stand. One accessory that is missing is his spiral lollypop, as seen in the film.
Overall:
Diamond Select Toys did an excellent job on this box set and everything here looks great.
As noted, it would have been nice to have Lock, Shock, and Barrel come with accessories just so they would have something to hold onto (other than their masks).
Highly Recommended.
