Hasbro’s The Black Series Deluxe First Order TIE Fighter Vehicle seems to be selling well, as stores like Amazon and Entertainment Earth, along with other stores like Target, Wal-Mart, BigBadToyStore, and other partners are selling through at least some of their current stock. While this is a high priced item at $169.99, it is also one of the best offerings from Hasbro this year.
The previous offer of the The Black Series 6″ Speeder Bike With Biker Scout was so overproduced and even ended up on clearance, that we thought Hasbro would not continue this 6″ scale vehicle line. That was also repainted into a The Black Series: Imperial Shadow Squadron Target Exclusive box set, which did sell well.
Back at San Diego Comic-Con, they debuted the TIE Fighter with the TIE Pilot. This was an instant hit with fans, and while Hot Toys is doing something similar with the TIE Fighter, we prefer Hasbro’s.
Since the TIE Fighter has opened the doors for additional larger vehicles, we want to talk about a Jedi Starfighter that has been on our minds for this scale – Yoda’s Starfighter as seen in The Clone Wars.
It’s true that the vehicle has not been seen as often as Obi-Wan’s or Anakin’s Starfighter. We’re thinking small here, as anything bigger will come with a higher price point, and since Yoda is one of the most popular Star Wars characters, and his Starfighter sold well when it was first released as a toy back in January 2013.
Since it will require to have some of the same features as The Clone Wars 3 3/4″ scale release, we expect it to fit an Astromech droid on the side of the wing, and also have a cockpit big enough to fit Hasbro’s The Black Series 6″ Scale Yoda action figure.
We understand that Hasbro have moved past The Clone Wars toy line, but let us not forget that Commander Doom and Commander Thorn action figures that were previously cancelled, were brought into The Black Series line in 2015. There was also the return of several Clone Wars characters that were brought into Star Wars: Rebels including Asoka Tano, and Hondo Ohnaka. So there is hope for 6″ scale Clone Wars vehicles.
This week, we are asking Hasbro to make a 6″ scale Yoda Starfighter as seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
