In celebration of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Hasbro sent out the second box to their press partners to give us a taste of what’s out at stores right now. This includes some basic 4″ figures, armor up deluxe figure, vehicle and figure pack, and the Target exclusive BB-8 remote control toy.
Hasbro gave press the opportunity to #ChooseDarkSide, or #ChooseLightSide, and each option is themed to what you will receive. In addition, you can find what each member of the press received from Hasbro using those hashtags on social media. ToyHypeUSA shared our toy haul back on November 9th on twitter. Not everyone received the same exact product and everything sent out was random.
ToyHypeUSA decided to #ChooseDarkSide as we thought that will be the better of the two options as far as what Hasbro will send out. As far as variety goes, Hasbro did a great job on product selection.

Build-A-Weapon 3.75″ waves 1 and 2 assortment:
Wave 2 Kylo Ren, Sarco Plank, and General Hux are shown above.
The second wave of Hasbro’s Build-A-Weapon series is better than the first wave, and we like some of the characters that they are introducing to the franchising including Kylo Ren, General Hux, among others. While more articulation is necessary in our option, these are all nicely sculpted and detailed figures.
Wave 1 Armor Up Assortment:
We received the armor up Kylo Ren figure with snap-on armor. The first assortment includes Kylo Ren, Finn, Luke Skywalker, Stormtrooper, and Poe Dameron. The figures each include 5 points of articulation.
We noticed some extra white deco on Kylo Ren’s legs, which would indicate snow on his outfit. Beyond that, we are unsure of any other differences between the basic and armor-up figure.
Class II Vehicle assortment:
We received the First Order Snowspeeder released back in September, and this is one of our personal favorites as it includes room for two figures, and just ultimately looks cool. The vehicle also features a stand on the bottom, and a missile launcher that’s also removable.
Target exclusive Remote Control BB-8:
In the letter, Hasbro wanted to send everyone this BB-8 regardless of which option they choose, as they felt everyone should own this. It’s definitely a fun toy to run across your floor to drive your pets crazy. BB-8 features expressive droid sound effects, and his head remains forward while rolling around on the floor.
BB-8 is a new type of astromech droid introduced in the film, and we are sure fans will love the character.
