Ask Jakks Q&A With Scott Neitlich – December 2015

Ask Jakks Q&A With Scott Neitlich – December 2015

That’s a wrap! Our 2015 edition of Ask Jakks with Scott Neitlich wraps up this month and we will continue the new year with new answers for our readers on January 1st.

Scott Neitlich, the Director of Marketing for boys action figures and collectors for Jakks Pacific had taken some time from his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us. ToyHypeUSA will also be sending him monthly questions just like we did for Ask Matty, when he worked at Mattel as the brand manager for Masters of the Universe Classics. Send us your questions to [email protected] by December 25th.

1. How have sales been on the 20″ Bossk figure and when might additional collector focused characters be revealed? New York ToyFair 2016?

A: Bossk has done great for us and is also a big favorite of the team (as are all the bounty hunters!). Hopefully yes, we will have new figures to announce next year at key events like NYTF and SDCC!

2. Any plans to offer The Force Awakens Captain Phasma with chrome deco? Possibly as an exclusive?

A: Definitely something we are exploring and we know the demand is there. If we indeed did a chrome deco version of Phasma an account exclusive or convention item might be the way to go. No definitive plans to announce yet, but this is on our radar to explore.

3. For the Star Wars 18″ or 20″ scale, the line so far lacks droid based on The Force Awakens. Have you looked at BB-8, C-3PO, or other droids featured in the film?

A: We certainly have and we hope to add more droids, both from the classic films as well as the new movies to our BIG FIGS line in both 20” and 31” Massive scales. Time will tell who and how many droids may show up. But much like your question above about Chrome Phasma, this is on our radar to explore!

4. I’ve noticed a decline in availability for the 20″ DC characters and has this line been cancelled? Do you currently have the license to make products based on CW’s Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl?

A: Our DC license covers both the classic comic look and the upcoming feature film Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. You will see new BIG FIGS in both of these styles in 20” and 31” Massive scale early next year!

5. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 48″ line – Can you make characters such as Mutagen Man in this scale or 3D-It, or are you more focused to characters that have appeared more than a couple of times on the show?

A: We certainly can do Mutagen Man, but at the moment, our 48.5” line for TMNT will likely focus on the actual Turtles. 48.5” figures are very expensive to tool (the one time mold created for any toy) and a 48.5” line depends mostly on kid and parent purchase to hit the numbers we need. More collector aimed characters are much more likely to show up in our 3D-it line vs our 48.5” Colossal scale BIG FIGS. But even with that said, you never know! We love hearing what fans want to see and are always pushing the limits on what is possible!
