DC Collectibles released the second wave of their highly anticipated Icons line that fills in the gap for DC fans wanting to buy DC Comics characters in their classic outfits. Available now are The Flash, Lex Luthor, Blue Beetle, Black Adam, and Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

Sculpt & Paint:
Lex Luthor measures roughly 6″ tall and based on his appearance from The New 52 Forever Evil storyline. He is sculpted in his battle armor warsuit as seen in the comics. This is a scaled down and a different take that was also offered by DC Collectibles with their Lex Luthor Deluxe Warsuit figure from 2014.
Just like all previous Icons figures, his tooling is 100% new and the tooling on the warsuit and head sculpt is very well done. His head sculpt is bald with all of the facial details and likeness that’s required to match the source material.
The warsuit is painted in green and purple, which look really sharp. There is some great tooling that went into the suit especially on the chest plate and back, knee guards, and shoulder guards. His is build on the slim body base, which works quite well for the suit. The real eye catcher here are his interchangeable hand sculpts that feature a spinning blade, fisted, open, scepter, and knife attachment that fits best on his fisted hand.
The blade is attached to his finger nails, and this is extremely delicate work to swap out the hands so the fingers don’t break and come unattached from the blade.
Articulation:
ball-socket head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double hinged elbows, swivel-hinged and removable wrists, ball jointed chest, lower ab crunch, ball jointed hips, double hinged knees, and hinged-swivel rocker ankles.
Accessories:
6x Interchangeable hands (open, fisted, blade, scepter), knife attachment.
Overall:
Lex Luthor is an excellent figure, a great paint job, and a great sculpt. Lex is very nicely detailed in his warsuit that features some nice tooling and detail. His swappable hands, especially the blade hand are great additions and are the primary attraction to us for the figure. Again, make sure to be extra careful with that blade hand when placing on and off his arm.
