NECA Toys completes their Terminator Genisys line-up with the recently released Guardian T-800 Pops figure. Previously offered was the Guardian T-800, and T-1000 Police Disguis. Pops is an aged version to the T-800 model and in the film, he is damaged from a fight with the T-1000 and was unable to make the jump 30 years in the future. In that time, he prepares for Judgement Day and when both Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese show up, he is aged with grey hair, showing an older but not obsolete model. This figure is based on the 2017 version of the figure as seen in the film.

The Guardian T-800 Pops figure is based on the likeness of Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and features a great likeness and sculpt to Terminator Genisys. Pops features an all-new sculpted torso, arms, and head sculpts, and shares the legs and feet with the regular T-800 Guardian figure.

His head sculpts include a standard, as well as a battle damaged head showing the Endoskeleton on the right side of his face, as well as his chin, and scratches on the left side of his cheek. The hair is painted grey to show the older 2017 model of the character.

The jacket is newly tooled, and features some great detail including pouches, wrinkles, and an excellent likeness. The jackets sleeves are sculpted separately as the left arm is able to be removed and replaced with the swappable arm attachment. The sleeves include the same texture and detail as the jacket. His chest includes an exposed circuits and the grey shirt is torn in that spot.

As we stated above, the left arm is interchangeable with an arm attachment (shown above). The arm is difficult to remove and you have to use a hair dryer as well as some patience to remove it. Once you do, it’ll be earlier to swap them out a second time.

Pops is painted in grey hair, a black leather jacket, grey shirt, dark grey pants and black shoes.

Articulation:

ball-jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, ball-jointed wrists, waist rotation, ball-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, and ball-jointed ankles.

Accessories:

M4 shotgun accessory, two interchangeable heads, and interchangeable battle-damaged left arm.

Overall:

The Terminator Genisys T-800 Guardian is an excellent figure as well as a great likeness to the character. The detail, paint apps, and the head sculpts are very well done. Since he has some nice articulation, posing the figure is easy in many different ways.

Terminator collectors will definitely want to add Pops to their collection.
