Diamond Select Toys posted the next round of Ask DST for Ghostbusters, Supergirl, Universal Monsters, Star Wars, Knight Rider and more.

It’s time to Ask DST, or rather, ask Diamond Select Toys president DSTChuck! The man himself is here to answer your questions regarding the futures of your favorite DST product lines, and this week it’s a potpourri of various licenses, including Ghostbusters, Supergirl, Universal Monsters, Star Wars, Knight Rider and more! Got a question of your own? Submit it in the drop-down form above or e-mail us!

Do you have any plans to make a Star Wars Clone Wars Ahsoka Tano bank bust? There is one for both Anakin and Obi-Wan, yet Ahsoka is excluded. Regardless of the answer thank you for your time. Actually I forgot to ask if an Asajj Ventress is planned as well. I’m not sure how much difference one person would make, but if these two bust banks were made I would buy the whole set of star wars banks.

DSTChuck: Right now we do not have any plans for more Star Wars banks, but you never know.

Will you be coming out with two supergirl busts, ones with different colors, like you did with the statue ?

DSTChuck: Right now, we just have the one planned from Superman: The Animated Series, but if it sells well, for sure, we would consider a Justice League Unlimited version.

Hello and thanks for reading! I was wondering if there was ever consideration by Diamond Select Toys of making a 1:15 scale electronic Knight Rider KITT 2008 version? I know the series did not last long and the car seemed heavily criticized, but surely there is a fanbase out there that wouldn’t mind having it sit with the other electronic KITTs.

DSTChuck: Sorry, right now we do not have any new versions of KITT planned.

Hi, when it comes time to make the Batgirl bust for the Batman the Animated series collection. Is there a chance that you will go with the black outfit she wore in the later episodes instead of the grey one ?

DSTChuck: Greg, for now, for the most part, we are focused on the early season looks. I do think there is some very cool stuff in the season 4 re-design, and I’d love to be able to get to some of that.

Hello! I’m super nervous asking but I was wondering if there will be figures (banks, minimates, anything) of the characters (specifically the vampire) from London After Midnight (the lost silent film, starring Lon Chaney Sr.). It’s very hard to find London After Midnight figures and I love the quality of your figures (I bought one of the My Little Pony vinyl banks and was very impressed). I hope to hear from you soon! Thank you so much!

DSTChuck: Sorry, but for right now we are not planning any product based on that movie.

Hey! The recently released Nightmare Before Christmas figures are great. I was curious is there more planned? If so can you comment on who? Would love to see more characters in this line especially Lock, Shock, and Barrel.

DSTChuck: Chris, we recently unveiled Series 2 (Santa Jack, Dr. Finkelstein, The Mayor) and Series 3 (Pumpkin King, Santa Claus and Lock, Shock & Barrel) at New York Toy Fair. We have a fourth series planned, so hopefully we can get that far along and more…

DSTChuck: Right now, we are not sure what we will do with the line for Halloween 2016.

I think DST might want to consider expanding their non-licensed monster figures from their Universal Monsters line to include “classic” representations of the characters that Universal can’t (or won’t) license. Imagine a Count Dracula that looks as described in the novel: dressed head to toe in black, with pointed ears, fangs, claws, long white hair, etc. Perhaps packed with an alternate head for his “younger” incarnation. How about a Frankenstein’s Monster with yellow skin, stringy black hair, watery eyes, black lips, etc, as described in the novel? You could then branch out to original versions of other monsters, such as was done by McFarlane Toys in the ’90s with their MONSTERS Playsets, only minus the playsets. A werewolf that combines the sensibility of the classic films, with more modern aesthetics. A Living Mummy that is much more decayed, but powerful. And, this would allow you to also expand on your Monster Hunters, too.

DSTChuck: For sure, we have considered something like that, and you can see us looking in that direction with the Van Helsing and Lucy figures.

Hey People.Ever considered doing a Bella Goth from The Sims 4 Femme Fatale statue?Or must all Femme Fatales have a body count of at least four? Well, she did build quite a few pools with no ladders, and invited a few Sims for a swim?

DSTChuck: I do not think we have ever considered the Sims license.

The Ghostbusters Selects figures look amazing, is there as chance when the current crop of figures based on the first movie has run it’s course we might see some based on Real Ghostbusters or is that not a license you’re currently pursuing?

DSTChuck: Right now we have 5 series planned for the first movie, and we have talked a little about some figures from the second movie, but those are just talks, so it’s way too early to say. Hopefully the line sells well and we can keep going.

My two-part question: Will we see more Nightmare Before Christmas from Diamond Select (the action figures, not the Minimates), and if so, will these only be seasonal, scheduled only in the fourth quarter of a year?

DSTChuck: We would like to do our core NBX releases twice a year. One in the summer in advance of Halloween, and a second after that for Christmas. Other things aside from MM and Select will come out over the full calendar year.
