Diamond Select Toys Ghostbusters Select line kicks off with Winston Zeddemore, Ray Stanz, and Louis Tully (The Keymaster). These figures are scaled to 7″ and each comes with a piece of the rooftop diorama piece that you will be able to build after five series of 15 action figures. It will take about 3 years, and once you are able to build the diorama (shown in the image below from our New York ToyFair 2016 coverage), it will measure around 20″ long. There are two different assortments available, this one is the specialty stores and comic book stores version with the rooftop diorama pieces. The Toys “R” Us assortment will not include the diorama parts.
The roof top diorama piece is very detailed once completed, and the pieces that are included with the first wave cannot connect at this time. The figures and the diorama pieces are sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios, and you can purchase wave 1 right now at the links below.

The Ghostbusters Select Winston Zeddemore, Ray Stanz, and Louis Tully are based on the 1984 classic Ghostbusters film. The film was the start of what will become one of the most recognizable and remembered franchises in cinematic history, and had a sequel, several animated series, comic books, and even a relaunch of a new film series in 2016.
Winston Zeddemore and Ray Stanz are based on the likeness of Actors Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd respectively. Both figures are sculpted in their Ghostbusters uniforms and features a chest harness with the proton pack that cannot be removed, a belt that is attached to the proton pack and can hold the trap, and there are tubes on their legs to the proton packs, and tubes connected to the proton pack to the neutrino wand. The belts also have a holster for the walkie talkies. The torso’s are each unique and new to the character, and they each share the same arm and leg sculpts. Their name badges and attached to the left side of the upper chest, and the right arm has the logo. Included with them are five sets of interchangeable hands including neutrino wand holding, gloved hands for neutrino wand gripping, ungloved relaxed hands, ungloved neutrino wand holding hands and, neutrino wand gripping hands. Included with Winston is a proton stream, a trap, and a piece of the roof top display. Included with Ray is a proton stream, ecto-goggles, and a piece of the roof top display.
The proton stream connectors were sent to us from Diamond Select Toys, and will be available in series 2. The connectors work well, but be extra careful as the peg for the proton stream could snap off while inside the connector. Just ask us how we know… Luckily, we could still finish the photoshoot.
Louis Tully is based on the likeness of Actor Rick Moranis. Louis features a brand new sculpt and depicts the scene where he is possessed by Gozer as the Keymaster. While he only comes with a piece of the roof top diorama display, the figure features a very impressive sculpt. His glasses are non-removable, and he is sculpted in his blue button down shirt, yellow undershirt, grey pants, and brown shoes. His eyes are painted in red, which represents when Gozer was in possession of his body.
Overall:
Diamond Select Toys have started their Ghostbusters Select line with these incredibly detailed figures and each are very nicely sculpted and a great representation of the Actors likeness. We are looking forward to more waves as well as connecting the diorama.
