Ask Jakks Q&A With Craig Drobis – July 2016

Ask Jakks Q&A With Craig Drobis – July 2016

Craig Drobis is the SVP of Marketing for boys action figures and collectors for Jakks Pacific following Scott Neitlich’s departure. Craig will now be answering your questions moving forward for all Ask Jakks submissions. ToyHypeUSA will be sending him monthly questions and we will have your answers back on or around the 1st of each month. Send us your questions to [email protected] by July 28th.

1. With the huge increase of popularity of the big figg lines especially of the DC and Star wars lines will there be more in the colossal series for Dc? And why was wonder woman omitted from the 31″ line? Or is there plans for her And the other characters as their movies come out to be added to the 31″ or larger lines?

For this year, the 48″ Big Figs Colossal Batman will be available for the holidays at TRU, Sams Club and other retailers.  That is the first from DC.  In general, we keep the number of 48″ figures limited in release because people can’t easily purchase deep in the scale and there is a similar challenge with gaining the retail space.  As for 31″, we had not planned to launch Wonder Woman in the Massive scale.  We are very pleased with the sales of the 20″ Big Fig.  I think we will be talking about the Massive scale and plans at our panel in San Deigo.

2. For San Diego Comic-Con, will Jakks be offering a Big Fig or other exclusive for those attending the show?

Yes, two Big Figs for sale in the Entertainment Earth booth have been unveiled by EE.

The Big Figs C-3PO and Joker’s Wild Batman have gotten great responses thus far and we expect them to be sold quickly. We will have a Star Wars dedicated Big Figs booth in the Lucas Pavilion and an announcement of the exclusive item on sale will be made soon.  The booth is 2913-M.  In addition to the exclusive, fans will have the opportunity to be the first to purchase our Big Figs Deluxe BB-8 with lights and sounds.

3. One more for SDCC, will Jakks be offering any new reveals at this years panel?

We will have a panel in San Diego to discuss the Jakks Big Figs as well as our other properties such as Nintendo and TMNT, as well as of course answer questions directly.  SDCC asks that we not give out the room, date and time yet, as some things adjust, but we will be there and will be unveiling an all new initiative for next year with multiple licensed properties included.

4. As a follow-up to my 3D-It Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles question from several months ago, has Jakks been able to push sales to where they want it to go to warrant any new figures or multi-packs to be offered?

Unfortunately no.

5. Where are we as of right now as far as play sets such as Brower’s Castle for the Super Mario 4″ line?

Playsets are definitely something in development for the future in one of our scales, however that will be more than likely a discussion for Fall 2017.  We will be updating everyone on other exciting things going on in the Nintendo line at our Comic Con panel.
