This year, Mattel had offered an 11″ Masters Of The Universe She-Ra figure as their San Diego Comic-Con exclusive that was only available to purchase on Mattycollector during the show, as well as advanced pre-orders to pick up the figure if you were attending.
With the news of Mattel ending Mattycollector.com at San Diego Comic-Con, and Super 7 continuing Masters of the Universe Classics and possibly ThunderCats in the near future, we hope to see both lines continue as they are with the possibility of vehicles and playsets in the works. According to Super 7, they are not exactly sure as to how they will go about offering the figures, as subscriptions or just day of sale are the two likely candidates (or both) that they will be offering. We will have more on this later on when possible.
This 11″ She-Ra figure was originally pitched as a concept about 7-8 years ago and was only recently green-lit to be made. There have been people at Mattel trying to get this figure made. At San Diego Comic-Con, Mattel had revealed two additional figures of Catra and Netossa and had asked fans to use the hashtag #wewantmoreSheRa on Social Media. This is to let Mattel know that you want to see Catra and Netossa made as an 11″ figure, As to how these would be offered without Mattycollector, we’re unsure of. But hopefully Mattel will find a way to bring these to the collector market even without their flagship collector store.
Thank you to Mattel’s Mattycollector brand team and designers for giving us the opportunity to bring you this advanced look. Make sure to watch our unboxing video below that was published just hours before we had left for San Diego.
Availability: July 20th-24th on Mattycollector; currently sold out
She-Ra stands at 11-3/4″ tall and includes three interchangeable iconic outfits, 24 points of articulation, rooted hair, 2 swords, signature shield, 6 interchangeable hands, and a 12-page mini comic that retells the story of She-Ra as if she were re-imagined.
The two She-Ra outfits are just beautifully done and look similar as they are both red, white, gold, and each have a diamond at the center of their chest. The costume above comes with a large removable red cape, white skirt, with a gold design and blue diamond, and a removable gold belt. Her head piece is gold with a red ruby at the top of her forehead, and she includes gold gauntlets and boots. Her sword is silver with a blue diamond.
The costume below is similar, but has a more loosely fitted skirt, a shorter red cape, a different headpiece and gauntlets, a redesigned gold sword, and a silver shield with a blue diamond. The head piece covers a portion of her face as opposed to the other one only that covers the sides of her hair. The gold boots are also supposed to be reused between both outfits, which is also the only piece of clothing going to be reused in the set for another outfit.
The Adora outfit is also stunning and she comes with a red uniform, a removable black belt, red gauntlets, and the extra pair of red boots. On the back of the outfit is a holster for her sword that can be used as storage. This outfit also includes two sets of interchangeable hand sculpts that can be used for the other two outfits. These include both open hands, fisted, and a third set to hold a sword. Whichever outfit you choose, She-Ra looks amazing.
Her head sculpt features some nicely detailed deco that looks like make-up, and her hair is rooted, long and blonde.
Also included is a new mini-comic that retells the Story of She-Ra. On the cover, she battles the Evil Horde member Catra.
Overall:
Being the only Masters of the Universe San Diego Comic-Con exclusive this year, She-Ra just looks amazing and is a well detailed and designed figure. Every aspect about the figure is stunning and the outfits look great.
Highly Recommended for any She-Ra and Masters of the Universe fan.
