As announced back at New York ToyFair, Fisher-Price revealed the Imaginext Super Hero Flight City. This playset features a rotating helicopter that can fly over and land on both rooftops. The Batcave and Daily Planet features a great deal of play with lots of spacious room, trap doors, working elevators, firing projectiles and discs, and much more.
Thank you to Fisher-Price for providing their Imaginext Super Hero Flight City for review.
Video Demonstration:
The Imaginext Super Hero Flight City Video measures 40″ long and 5″ wide once the bases and flight tower are put together, and includes Metropolis and Gotham City (in the video we called it the Batcave, because there are some aspects about this playset that feels like the batcave including the computer) playsets. The helicopter is connected to a flight tower arm that allows it to spin 360 degrees. The flight tower arm and helicopter can be adjusted by sliding the arm adjuster up or down, and the helicopter can be raised or lowered depending on where you place the adjuster. You can also adjust the speed of the helicopter by turning the power pad slightly clockwise, for slower more controlled lifts offs and landings. It does tend to crash into the playsets from time to time in a faster setting, so just be aware that you would need to keep your hand on the adjuster the entire time to tell the helicopter where to go. In the video, we explained how to turn the helicopter on and how to start rotating it around. So make sure to take a few minutes and watch the demonstration above.
Gotham City features lights and sounds (the Batman logo on the top lights up) that active once you turn the power pad on the left (which also activates the helicopter). It also includes a tiny bat symbol (that does not light up), computer, firing projectiles and discs, elevator, trap door, and two front doors. This set includes a Imaginext Batman figure that also rides the helicopter (it is recommended to use an Imaginext figure in the helicopter, so it might as well be Batman).
The Daily Planet features a trap door and globe on top, which can be turned over by turning the power pad. It also features 2 ladders, a prison cell with multiple doors, a firing projectile, and a revolving door.
Both set features three levels, and could hold dozens of Imaginext figures due to the fact it has lots of spacious room.
Overall:
The Super Hero Flight City is an incredible set with a great play feature allowing a person to rotate batman around in a copter and land (or crash as seen in our video) on the rooftops. Both the Gotham City and Daily Planet playsets have some great play value, lots of spacious room so figures can move around freely, and some great additions such as a computer, revolving doors, and more.
We think this a great addition to the Imaginext line. Just be warned that it does measure 40″ long, so finding a spot to store it after play and/or display might be difficult for some.
Recommended.
