This years Transformers three pack offering from Hasbro for San Diego Comic-Con includes figures from the Titans Return collection. Along with the three pack, Fortress Maximus was also offered as a SDCC exclusive version and a regular version offered to retailers. Titans Return are inspired from the Headmasters that were introduced in Transformers Generation 1 in the 1980’s. Titans Return is meant as a continuation of Hasbro’s Transformers Combiner Wars figures.
Thank you to Hasbro for providing their San Diego Comic-Con 2016 Exclusive Transformers Titans Return Titan Force Set for review.

Sentinel Prime is an orange, yellow, and red repaint of the standard version. He is the Voyager class Transformer in the set capable of transforming into three modes – robot, space jet, and train mode. In the vehicle modes, he is capable of storing his Titanmaster companion in the cockpit, as well as on the seat of the cannon. In robot mode, he can hold both blasters in his hands or in one of the ports on his body.
The transformation to space jet isn’t too difficult for an experienced Transformers fan. In Space Jet mode, he is less than a half an inch thick, and capable of storing the Titanmaster in the cockpit in the back, or on the blaster that you can put the plug through on the side. As far as the design of the space jet goes, it looks pretty good for an alien space craft. It is unusual for a cockpit to be in the back of a aircraft, but considering you can also put the Titanmaster on the blaster up front, its nice that Hasbro have given the option for both.
The train mode is the longest mode of the three, and he has additional tiny canons on the front and back. The cockpit in this mode is in the center, and you once again have the option to store him on the blaster on the front and back of the train. In this mode, you also have the use of two wheels on the bottom.
Brainstorm is a deluxe class transformer, and is inspired to look like he does in the IDW comics with the tones of blue and grey. The upcoming Walgreens exclusive will be inspired by the toy colors. Brainstorm is a retool of Blurr, and can transform into a robot into a Cybertronian jet fighter.
In robot mode, he can hold two blasters, one in his hand, and the other double-cannon blaster on his arm. In the Cybertronian jet fighter mode, the Titanmaster can be stored in the cockpit, as well in the double-cannon blaster by turning it upside down and storing it on the side of the jet. The jets design looks incredible in either way you display it, and looks the part of an alien space craft.
Windblade gets his second Transformers SDCC exclusive figure as she was also in last years set. Windblade is the only non-Titans Return mold used, but is also a vast improvement over the Generations deco used. Windblade can transform into a robot to a VTOL jet, and comes with a sword and blaster. The blaster is also used as a sheath for the sword, which slides right into it. Windblade is painted in a blue, grey, red, and silver color scheme that works very well. In VTOL jet mode, she can hold the sheath underneath, but standing the jet upright is a bit challenging. The jet also includes landing gear, and the fans on the wings can spin in either mode.
Also included in this set is a custom foil Autobot and Decepticon faction stickers.
Overall:
Titans Return is truly becoming one of the best Transformers offerings that Hasbro have done and this three pack exclusive is no exception. Even though these are repaints, the sculpts, Titansmaster companions, character selection, and transformation is very well done. The Sentinel Prime and Brainstorm figures are certainly two of the best Transformers exclusives this year.
Highly Recommended.
