Ask Jakks Q&A With Craig Drobis – November 2016

Craig Drobis is the SVP of Marketing for boys action figures and collectors for Jakks Pacific. Craig will be answering your questions moving forward for all Ask Jakks submissions. ToyHypeUSA will be sending him monthly questions and we will have your answers back on or around the 1st of each month. Send us your questions to [email protected] by November 28th.

1. Does Jakks still intend on making the 48.5″ Turtles figures of Raphael and Donatello? Were sales strong enough for Leonardo to go continue the line?

As of now, Mikey and Leo are all that are being made in the Big Figs Colossal scale. As you can imagine, there are only so many of these that a fan can fit into their rooms.  Overall, we want to keep the number of figures available in this scale limited and we have a pretty strong offering now between these 2 TMNT figs, Darth Vader, the Stormtrooper, and the recently released Batman.

2. Are there any more reveals to come of the Rogue One Big Figs line in the 18-20″ and 31″ scale? Would a Shoretrooper be possible?

It is always tough feeding the pipeline with information.  We announce the first wave, it hits shelves, and immediately people want to know what is next.  We do have a strong offering of Rogue One figures on the way and to show you I am not lying, attached is the Shoretrooper.  Look for it to arrive on shelves around movie time.

3. As it stands right now, are there any plans to revisit the Dragonball Z license in the 5-6″ scale, or possible another size?

Unfortunately we no longer retain the rights to Dragonball Z so any reintroduction will come from someone other than Jakks.

4. I was wondering if there were any plans to offer a droid such as BB-8 for Rogue One, similar to how Jakks had offered this figure in Force Awakens?

The only Rogue One droid is K-2SO and he looks really good both in the movie and in Big Figs 20″ scale and Big Figs Massive 31″ scale.

5. Is there any possibility of Green Lanterns (Hal, Kilowog), Sinestro Corps (Sinestro, Arkillo), Black Lanterns (Batman, Nekron), Red Lanterns (Guy, Bleez), etc. in the Big Figs line?

At this point, there are no addition Green Lanterns being planned.  We have been focusing our efforts for the DC Universe assortment on classic and comic characters which also have some continuing content which reach a broad audience.  Most of this has been announced or already released, but Flash and Harley Quinn fall into that category. We also have a very cool series of figures coming in early 2017, so look for more information and details on that at the end of the year.
