Playmates Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Micro Mutants Raph’s Rooftop Review

Playmates Toys is offering a new 1-1/4″ scale of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures that includes several new playsets available right now in stores. What you see here is the new Micro Mutants Raph’s Roodtop Mini Playset that can connect by the piping on the back of their shells to Leo’s Dojo (or another set similar to this) creating an even bigger set. The new Micro Mutants collection contains three different sets. The smaller sets comes with two figures and a small car at the $4.99 price point. Mikey’s Skate Park, Raph’s Rooftop, Donnie’s Lab, and Leo’s Dojo are the next bigger set and have a $14.99 price point. The largest available sets of Raphael and Leonardo that are standing with a playset around their bodies are $24.99 each.

During New York ToyFair 2017, Playmates Toys announced even more Micro Mutants sets that are coming out later this year and there some great products coming out that we plan to review later on.

Thank you to Playmates Toys for providing their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Micro Mutants Raph’s Rooftop for review.

Availability: March 2017

Ralph’s Rooftop Mini Playset includes a shell that folds upward to reveal a playset inside for the 1-1/4″ figures included with this and other sets in the line. The baby turtle includes the red bandana to distinguish Raphael from the other Turtles in the set, and the top of the shell opens to reveal a tunnel leading to the rooftop.

Once the shell is lifted, the Rooftop is revealed and includes some minor assembly including labels, a slide, and a cannon. The bottom portion of the rooftop has a smooth floor with lines beveled upwards. It also has four spinning dark grey stands, one red stand, and one light grey spinning dial that rotates all at the same time. The center red stand works for a figure, or the cannon. The ramp attaches to the side of the Rooftop and folds down.

The top part of the Rooftop features a rotating lookout tower, platform for the cannon and a peg to hold one mini-figure, two ladders on either side of the bottom portion, and a pole that is attached to a hook that holds the cage that drops down on the base below. The cage needs to be held up manually as there is not an option to raise it or drop it below another way. The hook can also rotate and is held together using a rope.

The piping as mentioned above can be pressed outward and on the back of shell can connect to Leo’s Dojo to create an even bigger playset with the two standing opposite of each other.

Included in this set are miniature figures of Raphael and Dog Pound. Raphael includes his signature sais that are removable. Also included are two projectiles, and a stand for the cannon.
