The next batch of DC Icons 6″ figures are available at comic shops and some online retailers this week, which include Deathstroke, Static Shock, Cyborg (Deluxe), Wonder Woman, and Swamp Thing. Deathstroke is #21 of the Icons line and is based on the Teen Titans story “The Judas Contract.” Deathstroke was designed by Ivan Reis and sculpted by Joe Menna.
Thank you to DC Collectibles for providing DC Icons 6″ Deathstroke for review.
Availability: April 5th, 2017
Deathstroke is packed in the standard window boxed packaging as seen with other single boxed figures in this line, and inside the window box you can see all of the accessories included with Deathstroke. Deathstroke stands at 6.25″ tall and features an excellent figure sculpt and is sculpted in his metallic blue, orange, dark blue and gold costume. The metallic blue deco is used for the textured parts of the sculpt, which includes the legs, arms, torso, as well as the ammo belt and right side of his head (over the right ear). The dark blue deco is used on the upper torso, right side of his mask, and shoulders, and there is some paint sloppiness where the gold collar meets the dark blue. The orange deco is used for the trunks, belt with accessories and pouches, boots, gloves, left side of his mask, sheath, and the holster on his right thigh. Lastly, gold us used for various part of the body, which includes the belt buckle, wrist band on left hand, collar sword handle, left side of the head (over left ear), and parts of the sheath. The deco and sculpt capture a great likeness to the character from this era.
Included with Deathstroke comes with two interchangeable head sculpts (masked and unmasked), two pairs of interchangeable hands (fisted and open handed for accessories), a revolver pistol with working gun holster, emovable sword and with a sheath that plugs into his back, rifle and bow staff which breaks down into three parts. The pistol fits loosely into the holster, and tends to fall out easily.
The articulation is what you would expect from the DC Icons line, which includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, hinged-swivel wrists, ab crunch, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, swivel boots, and rocker ankles. The hips are also hinged (as well as ball jointed), so you can lower or lift the legs.
Overall, this is a nicely done figure with a great likeness to the character, accessories, and all the great sculpting that went into this character. If you like Deathstroke and are a DC fans, then this one is for you. You can find links of where to purchase below, so make sure to pick one up now at your local comic shop or online retailer below:
