DC Collectibles Icons 6″ Cyborg Deluxe Figure Review

The next batch of DC Icons 6″ figures are available at comic shops and some online retailers this week, which include Deathstroke, Static Shock, Cyborg (Deluxe), Wonder Woman, and Swamp Thing. Cyborg is #20 of the Icons line. Cyborg was designed by Ivan Reis and sculpted by Paul Harding.

Cyborg is based on the Forever Evil storyline by DC Comics that was published 2013–2014, and was a crossover event . With the three Justice League teams – the Justice League, Justice League of America, and Justice League Dark “dead,” the Crime Syndicate come from Earth-3 to take over this world, where they recruit villains to their cause. Earth-0 villains that resist the Crime Syndicate follow Lex Luthor to form the Injustice League to take down the Crime Syndicate.

Thank you to DC Collectibles for providing their DC Collectibles Icons 6″ Cyborg Deluxe Figure for review.

The figure is a retool of the previously released DC Icons Justice League 7 Pack Cyborg figure (shown to the right), and features removable forearms, and a removable right shoulder. The 7 pack figure’s arms and shoulder cannot be removed, but the hands can be swapped out with the open hands that are included with this deluxe set. Besides the accessories and some retooling, there are no differences between the figures as far as deco or anything else as far as we can tell. The sculpt uses the bulkier took and style as see in the 7 pack, which is also much more detailed and fits in better with other DC lines that came before.

Cyborg  is sculpted in his suit that was seen in DC Comics Rebirth and is painted in classic silver, dark grey and red  cybernetic suit. His head sculpt is just nicely tooled with the cybernetic faceplate on the left side of his face, as well as the lower portion of his head all the way around. The suit is very nicely detailed and has a muscular build to it. The chest plate has a red and dark grey symbol at the center, and there are some red circular on the front of the hips and sides of the thighs. On the left forearm, there is a plate or armor with six triangles painted in red, as opposed to the right arm that has the plate, but does not have the red deco and is slightly tooled differently.

This release of Cyborg includes interchangeable open hands, closed hands, right hand attachment, right arm, left arm cannon x2, and a generator to recharge with three cables that attaches to the generator to Cyborg. The cables come as two thin pieces, and one thick pieces that plug into the generator. The two thin cables plug into Cyborg’s right arm, and the thick cable plugs into Cyborgs cannon accessory as shown in the image above. Plugging all three cables into the generator and Cyborg is not an easy task, and if you decide to do it, the thick cable causes the generator to turn sideways due to the thickness of the cable, as it does not bend the same way that the thinner cables do.

The generator is nicely done and includes some additional cables attached to it that are non-removbale. It is painted in the same grey and dark grey as Cyborg, and the ports to the plug the cables into are located on the top (as seen in the left image above).

The arm cannons and attachments are nicely detailed and plug in and out of the arms easily. Each piece is different, and offers a range of different types of weapons at Cyborgs disposal. Probably our most favorite here is that alien looking attachment on his left arm with the laser at the center (left image), as well as the interchangeable arm attachment as seen in the right image. Creating poses for a character like this won’t be a problem given how many accessories he comes with and all of the different options to swap out these parts.

Overall, Cyborg is a beautifully sculpted and designed figure that DC Comics fans will love. This is one of the most thought out and designed Cyborg figures ever created, as the interchangeable parts and accessories are exactly what this figure needs. You won’t regret picking one of these up (use the links below to purchase).
