Swamp Thing stands at slightly over 6 3/4″ and features 25 points of articulation. In the comics, the character has the power to control all plant life, and the figure is a great representation of the character. The sculpt is covered with vines, that are sculpted on his chest, arms, legs, feet, hands and head in various places. What really stands out on the figure is the deco. While the figure itself doesn’t have so much texture, the deco shows the plant life in several shades of green. The paint appears to have been painted in dark green, then with a light green wash over it.
The head sculpt is just fantastic, and those glaring red and yellow eyes have a great effect and really stands out. The head includes some great sculpting to really looks like it was taken right out of the comics.. Even the smallest bit of detail including the ears, mouth, nose, eye brows, and some texture on the top of the head looks great.
Swamp Things articulation includes a ball jointed neck, ball jointed shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ab crunch, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, and rocker ankles. Un-Man is non-articulated.
Un-Man is sculpted just as he appeared in the comics, with a large head with a big brain on top, while standing on a giant hand, with details such as finger nails, and realistic looking folds in the hand. The backside of his head has what looks like to be the rest of his body. The brain has some great detail to it including veins and lumps. The facial details look just fantastic, especially the eyes and mouth as there is some great painted details there to make it look realistic.
Included with Swamp Thing are two sets of interchangeable hand sculpts (fisted and open handed), and Un-Man figure.
Overall, this is a fantastic looking figure that every DC fan should own. Over the years, DC Collectibles released several different versions of Swamp Thing from a variety of different toy line. While our previous favorite was the one with the wings from 2003, this one is a new favorite with all this great detail and deco.
