Brutal Shredder, Savage Rahzar and Mystic April O’Neil are new re-deco figures that are designed as fillers just to offer something fans and collectors something new this year. None of the figures are retooled, and come with the same accessories and features as the first time that these were offered. Rahzar includes the pop-out claw, Shredder comes with the removable helmet, and April O’Neil includes the karate school training weapons from the dojo.

Brutal Shredder gets a new trademark name, as well as a new gold deco on his armor. The gold armor has a metallic finish on the chest, and hips, and the gold on the helmet, shoulders, claws, and legs are a matte finish. In addition to the new gold, the rest of the figure also has some new deco. This includes a black cape, light grey arms and hands, black chest plate, black shorts and belt, dark grey pants and shoes. The head sculpts the half burned, half un-burned sculpting and the deco looks to be the same as the previous figures. The eyes are painted with eye-liner, and the right eye is left white and a black pupil on the left eye.The articulation remains the same, which includes a swivel neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel wrists, swivel-hinged hips, and hinged knees.

Savage Rahzar gets a new trademark name with some new bright green deco that really stands out on this otherwise figure that is completely cast in black plastic. With the exception of the red eyes, Rahzar has gone from black and grey, and to black and green. The new green deco could be interpreted as the zombified look on the animated series, but since it’s not really meant too, we’ll leave it up to you to decide. The new bright green deco is nicely done and a good choice with the black. The bones on the chest, arms, hands, mouth and teeth, pelvis and hips have the green deco, including the extended claw arm and the bones on the back of the knees, as well as the horns on the top of the head. The sculpt has some texture, which indicates fur. The articulation includes swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel waist, and swivel-hinged hips. The legs make it a little difficult to get him to stand up on his own as he only has five points of articulation.

Mystic April O’Neil also get a new trademark name, and includes new deco to refresh the figure. April is cast in a black shirt and black boots, with yellow deco on the upper part of the shirt, the number 5 is also painted yellow, as well as the end of the sleeves. There is white deco on the wrists and on the knees just above the boots, and she hasgrey shorts and yellow pants. The hair colors a darker red than previous April O’Neil figures, and the deco on the eyes are nicely done with blue on the pupils, and some black eye liner. The articulation includes a ball-jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel wrists, swivel waist, and swivel-hinged hips. Included with April are the same karate accessories that came with the first figure, and with a the trademark name like Mystic April O’Neil, you would think that Playmates Toys would offer a new accessory to go along with her Krang telekinesis powers. Regardless, it’s still a great repaint.

Overall, these are all great looking repainted figures that fans should own. Finding these however has proven to be a challenge, as these are packed out as 1 per case, making it that much harder to find them.
