Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ Guardians Of The Galaxy Star Lord & Ego 2 Pack Figures Review

Entertainment Earth is the first retailer to carry Hasbro’s Marvel Legends 6″ Guardians Of The Galaxy Star Lord and Ego 2 Pack Figures that are based on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 film. Ego makes his Marvel Legends debut and is available exclusively in this set. This set also includes Star-Lord, which is a repaint of the single package release in the Mantis Build-A-Figure wave.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 made its theatrical debut in the U.S. on May 5th, 2017 and continues shortly after where the first film left off. The film raised more than $860 million worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing film of 2017, which also surpassed the first film. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was a pretty good film, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you should.

At this time, Entertainment Earth has this set listed as in stock for $39.99, and free domestic shipping is available on in-stock orders of $79 or more.

Thank you to Entertainment Earth for sending along Hasbro’s Marvel Legends 6″ Guardians Of The Galaxy Star Lord & Ego 2 Pack Figures for review.

Availability: July 2017

Star Lord features the likeness of Actor Chris Pratt, and is repainted from the single packaged figure in the Mantis Build-A-Figure wave. The figure is sculpted in his Ravagers jacket that is painted in a different shade of red than the single packaged figure, and the brown part of the jacket appears to be the same. The pants, boots, helmeted head, and Chris Pratt likeness head sculpts are also repainted, including the hair from blonde to brown on both head sculpts. The blasters on the 2 pack release does not have the gold painted on, whereas the single pack does have this. Instead, that part of the blaster was left dark grey. The most noticeable difference however is the color of the tee shirt, which is light grey on the 2 pack version, and dark grey on the single packaged version.

The details on the figure are the same, including the zipper on the jacket, along with all of the several different textures throughout the figures sculpt. The pistols can be stored on the figures hips, and the walkman in his hand.

Ego is based on the likeness of Actor Russell Crowe, and the character makes his Marvel Legends debut. The character is sculpted as he was featured in the film, with a beige shirt with black wash over it, and nicely detailed silver and brown designs on his forearms, elbows, belt, and the sides of his shirt. The brown harness and belt are connected, and are made of soft plastic. The cape is also removable, and also made of soft plastic with several different textures. The pants are painted in dark brown, with some parts including the straps and patterns on the sides are light brown. The boots are painted in two shades of light brown, with a wash over the lighter brown. Included are two head sculpts with an excellent likeness to the Actor, and each has its own facial expression. The articulation on both figures is what you would expect of modern Marvel Legends figures.

Overall, this is a nice set. Collectors are sure to love this set, and fills out the movie roster nicely with Ego being included (you will absolutely need him to display next to Mantis).
