Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ Thor: Ragnarok Series MCU Hela Figure Review

With Thor: Ragnarok coming to theaters very soon, Hasbro has released their new line of Thor Marvel Legends to tie in with the movie release. The series includes a brand new MCU Thor, MCU Loki, MCU Hela, Jane Foster Thor, Thor Odinson, and Ares (rerelease); each figure comes packed with a build a figure piece to build the new MCU Hulk featured in Thor: Ragnarok.

Hela is the Asgardian goddess of death, and ruler of Hel and Niflheim. She is going to make her MCU debut as the main villain in Thor: Ragnarok coming to theaters November 3rd, 2017. In the movie, Hela will be played by Cate Blanchett. I’m eager to see how close the MCU Hela is to her comic counterpart.

Marvel’s version of Hela made her comic debut in Journey into Mystery #102 (1964) and will be joining the MCU this November (2017). Her figure stands at 7′ with her unmasked head, 7.5″ for the masked head and is based off her MCU appearance.

Hela comes with a solid black sword with a lot of detail sculpted into it and an alternate head. Her costume is painted in a flat black with the chest plate and various line work highlighting her outfit in a dark metallic green paint. Hela’s cape is removable, dark green and is held in by a peg hole at the base of the back of her neck. She has wrist braces which are separate pieces from the arm sculpt but are not removable and are painted that dark metalic green. The figure comes with two heads to choose from: one being the Cate Blanchett which uses Hasbro’s new photo realistic scan technology, and the second one is the masked headdress version. The Cate Blanchett head is masterfully done and is truly beautiful. The hair is sculpted with sharp edges and uses a hard plastic. Her face paint is flawless and even has faint viens just above her eyes. The masked head is made of several removable parts which allows you to unplug parts of her antlers to customize how big you want to make her headdress. Hela is also packed with Hulk’s right arm as her build-a-figure piece.

She has the standard female articulation that Marvel Legends is known for, allowing you to recreate your favorite scenes from (at this point) the movie trailer. including a ball jointed neck, ball jointed shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed chest, ball jointed hips with a decent range of motion, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and swivel-hinged ankles.

I have to say this figure is truly amazing and she my very favorite from this wave of Legends, earning the Most Valuable Player for this wave. This is 2nd Hela figure Hasbro has given us, and I must say she is absolutely beautiful. The first release of Hela, which is based off her comic appearance, came to as a 2015 SDCC exclusive in the Book of Vishanti Box Set which you can check out here. Hasbro is constantly improving their line of Marvel Legends and with their new photo realistic scan technology things can only get better.
